Location: Adult Supported Living Services - Downpatrick

Hours: full-time and part time block bookings available

We are seeking Adult Support Workers to join our Supported Living Team, providing direct care and support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes using a person-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care (toileting, feeding, bathing, etc.)
  • Administer medication and manage behaviours of concern
  • Support service users in developing social, health, and leisure activities
  • Promote effective communication with families and advocates
  • Complete care plans, risk assessments, and reviews
  • Participate in training, team meetings, and supervision
Essential Criteria:
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent plus 2 years relevant experience in the field of Learning Disability OR HNC/D in relevant subject plus 1 years relevant experience in the field of Learning Disability OR 4 years relevant experience in the field of Learning Disability and QCF/NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent and a commitment to complete QCF level 3 in a relevant subject within a year of appointment to the post.
  • Registered with NISCC (or willing to register)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (unless exempt)
  • Willing to train in MAPA (Managing Aggression and Potential Aggression)
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of adult safeguarding and RQIA standards
