South Gloucestershire Council is urgently looking for Educational Psychologist. Main duties will be to carry out psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process. Immediate start - depending on compliance.
JOB CONTEXT
The Educational Psychology Service works closely with other Local Authority Services and officers, schools, settings and parent/carers to support children and young people in achieving the best possible outcomes in their education and wider personal development. By applying knowledge of psychological principles and problem solving processes, Educational Psychologists support and enhance the work of other professionals, and help to improve the life-chances of children and young people.
SCOPE FOR IMPACT
Educational Psychologists offer advice to and engage in joint problem solving with schools and settings on the special educational needs and disabilities of children and young people, and how these needs can best be met. Educational Psychologists also work at a systemic level across the Local Authority’s SEND Clusters to promote inclusion and reduce barriers to learning and participation for all children and young people.
