Are you a specification-led sales professional with experience in construction fixings and fasteners? Do you have the ability to influence specifications, engage with key stakeholders, and convert opportunities into long-term business growth?

My client is a highly respected manufacturer and supplier of specialist fixing systems and engineered fasteners operating across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Established for over 20 years, the business has built an enviable reputation for quality, technical expertise, and customer service, supplying innovative fixing solutions into some of the construction industry's most demanding applications.

The company is experiencing significant growth and, having expanded its team considerably over the last 12 months, is now looking to appoint a Technical / Specification Sales Manager to help drive the next phase of development. The Role:

Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, you will play a key role in developing specification opportunities, increasing project engagement, and expanding the company's presence within both established and emerging markets. The position will focus on identifying and influencing projects at specification stage whilst also supporting existing distribution relationships and developing new routes to market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Securing specifications on construction projects through early engagement with key stakeholders
  • Creating and breaking specifications to win project opportunities
  • Developing relationships with architects, specifiers, consultants, contractors, and key decision makers
  • Increasing engagement with Tier 1 Contractors and major construction projects
  • Supporting and expanding the existing distribution network
  • Managing projects from specification through to order conversion
  • Delivering technical product presentations and solution-based sales proposals
  • Identifying new market opportunities and generating sustainable business growth
  • Working closely with internal technical and commercial teams to maximise project success

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an adaptable and commercially driven sales professional with a strong understanding of the construction fixings and fasteners sector. You will possess the technical credibility required to engage with project stakeholders while also having the commercial skills needed to convert opportunities into revenue.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Proven sales experience within construction fixings, fasteners, anchors, façade fixings, insulation fixings, or related construction products
  • Experience securing or influencing specifications within construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of project-led and specification sales processes
  • Experience selling through distribution channels
  • Ability to engage with contractors, consultants, architects, and specifiers
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working remotely
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities
