This is a strategic regional leadership position overseeing multiple depots and a high-performing external sales team for a national contractor with an exceptional reputation in surfacing, infrastructure, aviation, rail, education, healthcare and public realm projects. This role is about driving commercial growth, strengthening key regional relationships, and ensuring the sales team delivers a consistent, high-quality experience across the South. You’ll shape the region’s strategy, coach and develop your team, and ensure the operation outperforms in a competitive market.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading, coaching and developing a dispersed team of external Business Development Managers
- Owning commercial performance across the Southern region
- Driving CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy and pipeline management (Pipedrive)
- Conducting structured performance reviews, joint client visits and coaching sessions
- Collaborating with regional operations to ensure seamless project delivery
- Building relationships with major contractors, local authorities, consultants and frameworks
- Implementing a high-performance culture aligned with business growth plans
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 3+ years managing external sales teams across multiple sites
- Strong track record of driving revenue, accountability and commercial discipline
- Experience within construction, civil engineering or technical sales
- Data-driven leadership — able to manage and improve remote teams
- Ability to influence internal & external stakeholders at all levels
