An experienced formulation chemist is sought to support the development and optimisation of industrial lubricants, with a strong focus on metalworking fluids.
Our Client is an established manufacturer of industrial lubricants supplying products used in demanding industrial applications. The business operates with a technically focused and entrepreneurial culture where R&D, production, and commercial teams collaborate closely. The company continues to invest in product innovation, particularly within metalworking fluids and advanced industrial lubricant systems.
- Develop and refine formulations for metalworking fluids and other industrial lubricant systems
- Conduct laboratory testing and interpret analytical data including FTIR, ICP, viscosity, and stability analysis
- Scale laboratory formulations into full manufacturing production processes
- Support customer trials and application testing within industrial environments
- Assist with technical documentation including regulatory support, REACH compliance, and SDS preparation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing formulations and product performance
Qualifications:
- Degree or HND in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline preferred
- Approximately 3–8 years of experience in formulation chemistry
- Experience working with emulsion systems, additives, or complex industrial fluid formulations
- Backgrounds in industrial lubricants, metalworking fluids, surfactant chemistry, coatings, or specialty industrial chemicals are highly relevant
- Experience supporting scale-up from laboratory development to full manufacturing production
- Familiarity with analytical techniques used in chemical or lubricant testing environments is advantageous
