We are looking to recruit an experienced IT and Information Security Manager to work across our two sites in the Cambridge Science Park. You will support core company functions as well as research groups on security systems and applications of Artificial Intelligence. You will be responsible for all information technology and information security management.
You will work 35 hours per week with core hours from 10:00 to 15:00, providing support during office hours and holidays, and occasionally working irregular hours or weekends for system issues or maintenance. Benefits include pension contributions and medical insurance.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing IT services for two sites on the Cambridge Science Park within a small-company environment, adhering to global policies
- Managing a small team for IT support
- Configuring, administering, and maintaining IT systems
- Supporting users with varying technical skills, including research staff
- Supporting laboratory systems with specialized hardware and software
- Developing Python environments to support AI projects in collaboration with research staff
Candidate requirements:
- Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role
- Technical skills across firewalls, networking, email, storage, backup, telephones, Windows services, anti-malware, vulnerability scanning, Linux (including GPU resources), Sage 200, and legacy systems
- Experience managing cloud services with strict security and compliance standards
- Experience working in corporate, standards-based, or policy-driven environments
Information Security Manager responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Information Security Executive
- Managing all aspects of information security at both Cambridge sites, including physical security and information in various forms
- Developing policies in line with global policies, legislation (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection Act), and standards
- Implementing security policies and procedures in collaboration with information owners
- Conducting audits and reporting
