At Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, we’re transforming how we support customers — evolving from an established hardware-led provider to a consultancy-driven, end-to-end retail technology partner delivering hardware, software, services and long-term support.
To support this journey, we’re seeking a Senior HRBP – UK & Ireland to lead our people agenda with clarity and impact. Operating within a matrix environment, you will contribute as a key member of our European HR team while enabling the UK&I General Manager and wider leadership team to align regional strategy with local execution.
At its core, this role focuses on ensuring our people strategy directly enables business performance and customer delivery. With end-to-end accountability for HR across the UK&I business, you will deliver both strategic and operational leadership across the full employee lifecycle — responsible for shaping and delivering a people strategy that enables performance, supports transformation and builds long-term capability.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a hybrid model (3 days per week in office), and ad hoc European travel for HR Team meetings and project delivery work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the European HR Director to shape and deliver a unified people strategy across UK&I, ensuring strong alignment with regional priorities and business objectives.
- Contribute to cross-regional European initiatives, balancing consistency of approach with local business requirements.
- Lead the UK&I HR function as a strategic enabler of performance and change, aligning structure, capability and accountability to evolving commercial needs.
- Enable the senior leadership team to build a high-performance culture grounded in trust, inclusion and accountability by promoting best-in-class HR practice.
- Embed a clear and consistent approach to performance, development and recognition that strengthens individual contribution, leadership impact and organisational effectiveness.
- Strengthen talent attraction, succession planning and retention through deliberate capability building and clear career pathways.
- Ensure robust and compliant HR governance, creating the operational foundation that enables our leaders and teams to navigate change with confidence and the business to focus on customers and delivery.
Qualifications:
- Held previous position of seniority in organisations of a similar profile (global, matrix, technology services industry is preferable, not essential) with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and establish functional credibility.
- In-depth knowledge of UK & Irish employment law with experience applying legislative changes in complex HR contexts.
- Hands-on experience steering and managing performance, talent mapping, levelling and compensation initiatives at a regional and local level.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding with ability to design and deliver commercially focused people strategies, practices and policies aligned with business objectives.
- Data driven with experience leading data driven people efforts including org health metrics and employee listening efforts including surveys and dashboards.
- Practical experience providing training and enablement support for leaders and employees that reflect the realities and values of the business.
- CIPD qualified (preferred) with commitment to continuous professional development.
We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements. Individuals who may require reasonable adjustments because of a disability for any part of the employment process should email pollyanna.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:
Furthermore, we’re committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for all our people as highlighted by our 5 Core Principles (Create Outreach, Foster Belonging, Unleash Opportunity, Diverse Cultural Engagement and Culture of Transparency). We’re passionate about our customers, the retail industry and becoming a more responsible company as we help create a brighter future.
