Tosca is seeking a Field Service Engineer, responsible for keeping the machines in optimal condition and assisting different sites in handling breakdowns and resolving them. You are based in the UK from where you will provide service throughout the country. On occasion, you’ll also travel to other sites in Europe. Together with the engineering team, you will be setting up preventive maintenance plans and organising major service work. Proactively, you will work with the Operations teams to improve the overall efficiency of our production sites.
Responsibilities- Proactive Maintenance approach
- You draw up a preventive maintenance plan in consultation with the engineering manager.
- You plan maintenance and repair work in consultation with the local operations team.
- You are responsible for preventive & reactive maintenance of equipment in the UK.
- You report on work performed, on periodic maintenance and used parts.
- You are responsible for risk assessment and stock management of critical parts and tools, in consultation with the engineering manager and local operations team.
- You discuss improvement and process automation proposals with the operations team and engineering manager.
- You support project management with the implementation of new machines and start-up of new service centres.
- You work and promote Health and safety compliance in accordance with company policies, Safe Systems of Work and local legislation.
- You demonstrate high standards of work practices and safety-conscious behaviour.
- You train and monitor staff in standard machine operating procedures and safe work practices.
- Awareness of site security, hygiene & PPE requirements, and awareness of site certification i.e. Certificates and standards.
- You identify development and machine training needs within the team.
- You operate within standard operating procedures.
- You identify problems and improve efficiency on a daily basis.
- You attend training courses necessary in relation to new machinery requirements.
- You ensure the appropriate cleaning schedules and processes are completed on the machinery to satisfactory standards.
- You maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- You assist in training of new starters.
- Knowledge of electricity, mechanics and basic software skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics or certified engineer.
- 5+ years’ experience in the field.
- Technical ability with electrical systems, mechanical systems (including pumps & steam systems), and general construction methods.
- Fluent in English.
- You are focused on continuous improvement.
- You work efficiently within a cross-functional and team-based environment.
- You have strong communication skills, built around problem-solving, solution-based critical thinking and decision-making.
- You are willing to travel.
