About the Role
Torva Europe UK Ltd is looking for a reliable and hands-on Production Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of our production facility in Coalville.
The facility processes animal by-products for onward manufacture into pet food ingredients. The Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating the production team, allocating daily tasks, monitoring work standards, and ensuring that production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the production team when required, while also providing day-to-day supervision and reporting operational issues to the Operations Manager.
Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader position within food production, meat processing, manufacturing, warehousing, or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the production team during the shift.
Allocate daily duties and ensure production activities are completed efficiently and on time.
Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, performance, and adherence to workplace procedures.
Support, guide, and train Production Operators in their day-to-day duties.
Carry out hands-on production and processing activities alongside the team when required.
Ensure raw materials are handled, prepared, and processed in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure production equipment is operated safely and correctly.
Oversee packing, labelling, storage, and preparation of finished or semi-finished products for transportation.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the production facility.
Ensure cleaning of machinery, equipment, and production areas is completed to the required standard.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and Health & Safety requirements.
Identify and report equipment faults, safety concerns, staffing issues, or production problems to the Operations Manager.
Coordinate loading, unloading, and movement of materials where required.
Help maintain an organised, safe, and productive working environment.
Complete basic production records and reports as required.
Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the effective operation of the facility.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, Foreman, or in a similar role within a production, manufacturing, food processing, meat processing, or warehouse environment is desirable.
Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic.
Ability to lead and motivate a small production team.
Willingness to take a hands-on approach and work alongside the team.
Physically capable of carrying out manual production duties.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to follow and enforce workplace procedures and safety requirements.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to maintain basic production and operational records.
Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Must be able to reliably commute to the Coalville site.
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous. xgikmsk

The normal working week is Monday to Friday, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm , including a one-hour unpaid break , providing a total of 40 paid hours per week .
