Torus Group is seeking a Strategy and Policy Advisor to play a key role in maintaining a programme of policy insight activities, ensuring the Group is kept informed of relevant emerging legislation that will or may impact the business, supporting leadership decision‑making. In addition, the role will also assist in managing the risk management function, embedding strong operational risk practices across the Group.
This role is hybrid, with a mix of home and office‑based working. The team currently has office days on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Liverpool city centre office; however, the successful candidate must be flexible in line with business needs, as this arrangement is subject to change.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist in developing a programme of policy insight and horizon scanning activities, identifying emerging policy and legislation that may impact Torus.
- Produce regular policy insight reports to advise Torus leadership with regard to new or emerging policy and legislation.
- Work in a guidance function to support the production of external information and knowledge documents.
- Support leadership team across the Group to prepare responses to external policy developments.
- Provide support and guidance in the development of Torus Group’s internal strategies and policies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining an effective risk management framework across the Group.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified by experience in a political, public affairs or external relations function at a large‑scale organisation.
- Able to analyse and interpret complex information and to brief those at the highest organisational levels, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrable experience of influencing, policy analysis and organising external campaigns, and knowledge of the local and national political and policy environments.
- Evidence of commitment to continual professional and personal development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with a range of audiences.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
- Willing to work towards gaining a qualification in risk management.
Interview Process:
Interviews will take place at our Liverpool office w/c 11/05/2026. Interviews will include a scenario‑based assessment, provided on the day, alongside competency‑based questions.
