We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Joiner to join HMS, part of Torus Group. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and responsive service to our customers, working across occupied and void properties. You will carry out a wide range of joinery works and associated multi-skilled tasks, contributing to our one job, one visit approach while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and customer care.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Carry out all aspects of internal and external joinery, including plastic and composite products, maintenance and remedial works.
- Undertake associated trade tasks (e.g. basic plastering, tiling and plumbing) to support efficient service delivery.
- Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets.
- Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising directly with customers and colleagues.
- Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines.
- Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required.
- Use IT and mobile devices to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates.
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly.
- Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays.
- Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
- Participate in training, development and competency programmes.
- Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors.
- Take part in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies).
What Weβre Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Joinery or relevant craft discipline.
- CSCS card at the appropriate level.
- Experience in multi-skilled trade activities.
- Full UK or EU driving licence.
- Completed apprenticeship (time served).
- Proven experience in joinery, building maintenance and construction.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Experience supervising or supporting apprentices.
Interview Process:
Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Stonebridge office, which will include a competency-based interview.
