Health Promotion Officer - 2 Year Fixed Term Contract in Saint Helens

Are you passionate about improving health, wellbeing and making a positive difference in local communities?

We're looking for a Health Promotion Officer to join Torus Foundation on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Working across our communities in Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington, you'll work with residents, partners and community organisations to deliver health and wellbeing initiatives that support residents to make positive lifestyle choices, improve their wellbeing and access the services and support they need.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in community health, wellbeing, public health or social prescribing who is driven by making a positive impact and improving outcomes for local people.

This is a hybrid role, primarily supporting residents and communities across Liverpool. You'll have one office-based day per week in St Helens, with the flexibility to work from home when not delivering community-based activities or attending meetings. Travel to other Torus locations may be required in line with business needs. During your induction period, you'll spend additional time in the office to support your onboarding and training.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting the delivery of Torus Foundation's Health and Wellbeing Programme, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and provide positive outcomes for residents.
• Working across Torus neighbourhoods to engage residents, improve health and wellbeing, and connect people with local services, support and community assets.
• Developing and delivering health promotion initiatives that encourage healthier lifestyles, prevent ill health and support people living with long-term health conditions.
• Identifying and engaging residents at risk of social isolation and supporting access to appropriate health and wellbeing services.
• Promote a social prescribing approach, helping residents to access services and support that improve their overall wellbeing.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with health providers, local authorities, voluntary sector organisations and other strategic partners.
• Working with partner agencies and stakeholders to identify and deliver projects that address health inequalities in line with the NHS England Core20PLUS5 approach.
• Delivering awareness campaigns and targeted interventions linked to local and national health priorities.
• Making referrals and signposting residents to external agencies and support services, following up where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Torus Foundation to deliver social impact activities linked to funding requirements and strategic priorities.
• Supporting the promotion of projects, events and resident success stories through case studies, communications and social media channels.
• Ensuring safeguarding, equality, diversity and health and safety principles are embedded throughout all activities.

What we're looking for:

• Experience delivering health and wellbeing projects within communities, with a focus on reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage residents, partners and stakeholders
• Knowledge of the factors affecting health and wellbeing, including social isolation, mental health and wider socio-economic challenges.
• Experience working collaboratively with partner organisations and using a person-centred approach to support positive change.
• Strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, interpret data and demonstrate impact
• A proactive, resilient and flexible approach, with a passion for improving the lives of local people and strengthening communities.
• Full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and valid business insurance

Interview Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview at our St Helens office onFriday 21 August 2026. The interview will focus on community engagement, partnership working, project delivery and supporting residents to improve their health and wellbeing.
