We’re looking for a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join our team in St Helens and play a key role in managing tenancies and supporting our communities to thrive. At Torus, people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to improving our services and making a positive difference in our neighbourhoods, which is why we’re introducing a new Neighbourhood Pilot that will help shape how we deliver services in the future. The pilot focuses on a more visible and hands-on approach to housing services. It’s about working more closely with tenants, better understanding neighbourhood issues, and listening to residents to help shape how our service develops. This is meaningful work, and while it can be demanding at times, you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working alongside colleagues and local partners to build stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Manage a defined patch of housing stock, delivering a wide range of tenancy and estate management services.
- Provide advice and support to tenants and residents on all aspects of tenancy management, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service.
- Carry out a range of visits including tenancy audits, new tenancy visits, inspections, exchange visits, accompanied viewings and evictions.
- Manage a caseload of tenancy-related issues, including anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and sustainment cases.
- Investigate and resolve issues such as unauthorised occupation, subletting, tenancy fraud, relationship breakdowns and access concerns.
- Work proactively to support tenancy sustainment, carrying out needs assessments.
