We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused
Joiner to join HMS, part of Torus Group.
You’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and responsive service to our customers, working across occupied and void properties.
You’ll carry out a wide range of joinery works and associated multi-skilled tasks, contributing to our “one job, one visit” approach while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and customer care.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carry out all aspects of internal and external joinery, including plastic and composite products, maintenance and remedial works
- Undertake associated trade tasks (e. g. basic plastering, tiling and plumbing) to support efficient service delivery
- Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets
- Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising directly with customers and colleagues
- Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines
- Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required
- Use IT and mobile devices to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly
- Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays
- Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work
- Participate in training, development and competency programmes
- Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors
- Take part in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies)
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Joinery or relevant craft discipline - You will be required to provide proof of qualifications if you are invited to attend an interview.
- CSCS card at the appropriate level (desirable)
- Experience in multi-skilled trade activities
- Full UK or EU driving licence
- Completed apprenticeship (time served)
- Proven experience in joinery, building maintenance and construction
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Experience supervising or supporting apprentices

Interview Process
- Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Stonebridge office, which will include a competency-based interview.
Interviews will take place week commencing 15th June 2026 at our HMS Stonebridge Office.
