Do you have strong people advisory skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for supporting managers and colleagues? We’re looking for a HR Advisor to join our team and play a key role in delivering a professional, people-focused service across the organisation. This role is based from our Liverpool City Centre Office, with travel to our St Helens and Warrington offices in line with business needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managed a varied caseload of employee relations matters, providing expert advice to managers and colleagues.
- Supported performance management processes, including capability, development plans and use of data and systems.
- Led on attendance management, including absence monitoring, return-to-work meetings and long-term cases.
- Provided clear guidance on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
- Built strong relationships with managers, acting as a trusted point of contact for people-related advice and support.
- Worked collaboratively with Housing, Assets and Corporate teams to deliver a consistent HR service.
- Supported recruitment, retention, talent development and apprenticeship programmes across the organisation.
- Contributed to People Strategy delivery, corporate initiatives and transformation projects.
- Assisted in identifying learning needs and sourcing appropriate training solutions.
- Maintained accurate, confidential records, ensuring data integrity and audit compliance.
- Worked in partnership with trade unions to foster positive and productive relationships.
- Promoted value for money through efficient processes and effective use of systems.
- Ensured all activity aligned with health & safety, equality and safeguarding requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working in a People/HR advisory role, providing support across a range of employee relations matters.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting managers with performance management, absence and conduct issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with experience maintaining accurate records.
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders, including trade unions (desirable).
- Understanding of apprenticeship programmes and talent development (desirable).
- High levels of IT literacy and confidence using HR systems.
- A proactive, resilient and customer-focused approach.
- A commitment to health and safety, equality, and excellent service delivery.
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
