We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Electrician to join our Vacant Homes team at HMS, part of Torus Group, delivering high-quality construction and maintenance services across the North West. This role plays a key part in ensuring our customers receive a first-class service, with work completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out all types of electrical work, both internally and externally, including rewires, remedial works and upgrades in line with current legislation.
- Completing repairs and installations to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction at every stage.
- Supporting our “one job, one visit” approach by undertaking complementary trade tasks such as basic plastering, plumbing or joinery where required.
- Diagnosing faults, pre-measuring works and making informed repair decisions in line with contractual guidelines.
- Working within a scheduled appointment system and liaising with customers and colleagues to coordinate works effectively.
- Supervising and supporting apprentices and trainees where assigned.
- Managing vehicle stock, materials and equipment efficiently to minimise waste.
- Accurately completing documentation and using mobile/IT systems to receive instructions and update works orders.
- Driving company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Working as part of an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies).
What We’re Looking For
- Time served apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation (EMTA 17th/18th Edition).
- 2391 Electrical Testing Qualification.
- Valid CSCS card (appropriate level).
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and construction.
- Strong customer care skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A flexible, proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Experience in multi-skilled trade activity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues.
Interview Process
Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Stonebridge office, which will include a competency-based interview.
Additional Information
Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:

- 2x Completed references.
- OH Health Questionnaire – Fit For Work.
- DBS check (if required for role).
- Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s.
