As Data Governance Manager, you will lead the development and embedding of our Data Governance Framework, working collaboratively with data owners, data stewards and senior leaders across the organisation. You'll champion the use of data as a strategic asset, driving improvements in data quality, governance, compliance and information management whilst ensuring robust governance processes are in place. Working closely with the Business Intelligence team, Data Protection Officer and Cybersecurity colleagues, you'll play a key role in developing a culture where data is managed effectively, responsibly and consistently across Torus.

The successful candidate must be able to work across all Torus Group offices as required to meet business needs. Flexibility will be required to support the demands of the role and the wider business.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Group's Data Governance Framework.
- Provide assurance to senior leaders and governance groups by reporting on data governance activities, progress and organisational maturity.
- Develop and maintain policies, standards and processes relating to data quality, metadata, data lineage, access and retention.
- Act as the central point of accountability for data governance activity across the Group, ensuring actions are documented, tracked and delivered.
- Support and advise the chairs of the Data Governance Steering Committee and Data Stewardship Committees.
- Provide expert guidance to data owners, data stewards and senior leaders on the effective management, use and disposal of data.
- Define and maintain data quality standards, rules and targets in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to oversee data quality reporting, dashboards and performance monitoring.
- Own and maintain organisational data dictionaries, ensuring consistent definitions across systems, reports and data platforms.
- Champion and promote the principles of data governance across the organisation through effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Work with colleagues to ensure regulatory reporting requirements are documented, understood and consistently applied.
- Lead, develop and support the Data Governance & Quality Analyst and Data Governance Apprentice.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety and information governance requirements across all areas of responsibility.
What we're looking for:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification and experience.
- Proven experience leading or managing data governance activities within a complex or regulated organisation.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles and data lifecycle management.
- Experience developing and embedding governance policies, standards and processes.
- Knowledge of data quality management processes, information governance and GDPR requirements.
- Experience using Business Intelligence and reporting tools, such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities within complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.
- Strong project management and change management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, risk management and regulatory reporting requirements.
- A proactive, resilient and improvement-focused approach with a passion for driving positive change through effective data management.
