This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Please note that, due to FFH operating on annualised hours, the contracted hours for this role are 25.34 per week. Scheduled shifts total 24 hours, with the remaining hours allocated to training, meetings and other role-related activities. • Supporting stock control, monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and replenishment as required.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and food safety throughout the café, kitchen and customer areas.
  • Carrying out daily cleaning duties, including washing up, clearing tables, cleaning equipment and ensuring workspaces are well maintained.
  • Assisting with room set-up and catering arrangements for activities, events and bookings across the hub.
  • Working towards service targets, including reducing waste and helping provide affordable food options.
  • Listening to feedback from customers and young people and supporting improvements to the café offer.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment, following safeguarding, health and safety and equality policies at all times.
  • Supporting promotional activities, community events and other operational duties across FireFit Hub as required.
  • Working flexibly as part of the wider team to meet the needs of the business.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in a catering, hospitality, café or customer-facing role.
  • A minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Friendly, approachable and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
  • Comfortable engaging with a wide range of customers, including children, young people and community members.
  • Happy to take on a varied role, including food preparation, serving customers, setting up rooms, cleaning and washing up.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft applications and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • A flexible, reliable and positive team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding.
