We’re looking for an experienced Bricklayer to join our team at HMS, part of Torus Group, delivering high-quality construction and maintenance services across our properties. You’ll work as part of an integrated team, taking pride in excellent workmanship, customer care, and getting jobs completed right first time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out a wide range of bricklaying works, both internally and externally
- Completing damp proof installations, re-pointing, groundworks, concreting and general structural repairs
- Undertaking associated trade tasks such as plastering, flagging and basic joinery where required
- Planning and organising work efficiently to meet agreed priorities and response times
- Working within scheduled appointment systems and liaising directly with customers
- Supervising and supporting apprentices and trainees when required
- Diagnosing repair issues and pre-measuring works to ensure jobs are completed effectively
- Using IT and mobile systems to receive jobs, complete works orders and order materials
- Driving company vehicles responsibly and maintaining vehicle stock and equipment
- Ensuring all work meets quality standards, customer care expectations and KPIs
- Working safely at all times and complying with health & safety requirements
- Taking part in training, development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in out-of-hours rotas where required
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Bricklaying or relevant craft discipline
- Valid CSCS card at the appropriate level
- Full UK or EU driving licence
- Time-served apprenticeship
- Proven experience in bricklaying, building maintenance and construction
- Strong customer care skills and a professional approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible, proactive and able to manage a varied workload
- Experience of multi-skilled trade activities
- Experience supervising or supporting apprentices
- A continuous improvement mindset
Interview Process:
Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Stonebridge office, which will include a competency-based interview.
