Overview
We\’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our team based in Liverpool to complete a 2-year apprenticeship. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start your career in IT, providing front-line support to both internal and external customers. You\’ll play a key role in helping users access and make the most of our IT systems – problem-solving, troubleshooting and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for everyone. The position is full-time, working on a rota basis between 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm, with occasional travel to our Warrington or St Helens offices once a week. As part of your professional development, you\’ll work towards an NVQ Level 3 qualification in IT through structured work-based learning and on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse requirements to implement IT solutions.
- Provide IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment per documented processes.
- Manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when needed.
- Maintain IT service standards, security, and compliance.
- Document technical processes, create user guides, and provide staff training.
- Support IT operations, ensuring adherence to policies and best practices.

Eligibility requirements
- This position is offered as a Level 3 ICT Apprenticeship. Therefore, we are unable to consider applicants who already hold an equivalent qualification, or who have completed a significant portion of the apprenticeship content through other courses.
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C / 4 and above) including English and Maths (or be willing to complete Level 2 Functional Skills in these subjects during the apprenticeship). No existing Level 3 (or higher) IT qualification that substantially covers similar content.
- Additionally, as this is a two-year apprenticeship, applicants must have at least 2.5-3 years of continuous right to work in the UK at the point of application. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications
- A good educational foundation, with at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths.
- The ability to successfully complete a pre-entry assessment with our training provider, showing you can achieve an NVQ Level 3 qualification in IT.
- A good track record of attendance, punctuality and conduct from school, college, or previous work experience.
- Strong IT literacy, with confidence using computers, mobile devices, and common software such as Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and other basic IT systems.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical and creative approach to resolving technical issues.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude.
- A customer-focused mindset, with the confidence to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels.
- A genuine commitment to personal and professional development, with a willingness to listen, learn and grow.
