About the role: You will play a vital role in providing professional and efficient administrative support, acting as the first point of contact to visitors. Working under the direction of the Headteacher and Primary Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include supporting the school admissions process, data inputting, and updating records. You will provide general administrative support by producing written communications, updating spreadsheets, scanning documents, and supporting the organisation of events and specific projects. The role also involves providing reception cover to meet and greet visitors while ensuring safeguarding processes are adhered to. On occasion, you may be required to assist with student supervision during break times.
About you: This role is ideal for someone who is organised, has great attention to detail, and wants to be part of a team in a busy school environment.

Why join us: Tortworth Primary School is a small school with a big heart and is part of CSET, a family of schools with a shared ambition to provide ‘a great education for every child’. The rural setting means the school is lucky to have extensive outdoor space, including a large forest school area which staff and children love using to enhance learning; a school field and access to another large field; a peace garden and an area with wooden play equipment. The school is currently split into three classes and also has a separate library and hall. Tortworth aims to develop the family feel that can be fostered in a small‑school community by challenging all children to reach their potential, encouraging kindness and inclusion and recognising each child’s unique talents. Our Headteacher leads both Charfield and Tortworth Primary Schools, and while your main base will be Tortworth, on occasion you may be asked to support at Charfield. This collaborative approach allows staff to share expertise and strengthen provision across both schools.
We can offer you:
- Happy, engaging students
- A supportive trust and school community
- Strong collaboration across the trust family of schools and access to a centralised team of specialists across all areas of school operations
- A commitment to high‑quality CPD, with dedicated time and budget for your development
- A values‑driven ethos where diversity, equity and inclusion are lived every day
- Recognition of continuous service (modification order) to protect employment rights and entitlements
- Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions and death‑in‑service cover
- Occupational sick pay to support you during illness or unexpected emergencies
- Family‑friendly leave packages to help maintain a healthy work–life balance
