We are looking for a strong practitioner with a passion for teaching English, who is confident and skilled in working with learners who have SEMH needs, teaching young people in KS3 and KS4. We can offer a well-resourced department and a great team of people to work with.

We are keen to appoint the right person with the personal qualities that will make them a success at Tor. In addition to the skills required, the passion to work with young people and the key personal attributes are fundamental.

  • Firmly believes that every child, irrespective of background and starting point, can be successful in learning
  • Imaginative and can create opportunities to promote children’s social and emotional development
  • Committed to social inclusion and raising children’s achievement
  • Subscribe to, and can demonstrate, a clear understanding of nurturing principles
  • Able to foster good relationships with pupils, parents/carers and a range of professional colleagues
  • A high level of personal resilience, a positive attitude and flexible approach
  • Willing to continue and develop practice through self-directed professional development
