Torr Scientific Limited (TSL) is an innovative company that brings together a unique range of expertise, skills and equipment from the fields of thin film vacuum coating, vacuum instrumentation and electron-optics, to service the world’s leading scientific research institutions and OEM manufacturers of industrial and medical testing equipment. High quality components and instrumentation are manufactured in cleanroom conditions, and facilities include vacuum furnaces, TIG welding, helium leak testing, e-beam and sputter coating systems, a glass shop and high-end optical testing equipment.
To further the success of the company, TSL is seeking an additional Production Technician to produce thin film coatings in cleanroom conditions.
- Coating Application: Apply various types of thin films, including optical coatings, using E-Beam and sputter coaters.
- Product Preparation and Cleaning: Perform the final cleaning and preparation of products prior to coating, ensuring they are free from contaminants. Handle and prepare products carefully to maintain their integrity throughout the coating process.
- Testing and Quality Checks: Use spectrophotometers and other optical testing equipment to test coatings and ensure they meet specified standards. Participate in the inspection and quality control processes for coated products.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate coating machinery and equipment, adhering to operational guidelines and safety standards. Assist in the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of coating equipment.
The successful applicant will be a keen and energetic team-player with qualifications in Physics or Chemistry and/or relevant industry experience. They will be driven to develop their own skills and knowledge and meet production targets, whilst always ensuring the highest level of quality.
