General Manager – West Yorkshire Area

If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join Torque as a General Manager in West Yorkshire.
About the Role
As General Manager, you’ll take full accountability for one of our large, complex sites. This is a senior leadership role where you’ll oversee site performance, financial control, customer service, and compliance, while leading and developing a large multi-functional team.
You’ll be the key link between site operations and the wider business, ensuring excellence in service delivery, strong customer partnerships, and sustainable growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the site management team, driving engagement, capability, and succession planning.
- Take full accountability for budget accuracy, forecasting, and cost control.
- Own customer relationships on-site, ensuring commercial performance and service excellence.
- Deliver against SLAs, KPIs, and customer expectations in a high-volume environment.
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with policies, regulations, and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate across Torque to align site operations with business-wide goals.
About You
- Extensive experience managing large, complex warehousing operations.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience of both closed-book and open-book accounts.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire large teams in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
- Excellent communicator, relationship builder, and problem solver.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office & warehousing systems).
- Knowledge of employment law and health & safety regulations.
- Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a hands-on approach when needed.
