General Manager – West Yorkshire Area

About the Role

As General Manager, you’ll take full accountability for one of our large, complex sites. This is a senior leadership role where you’ll oversee site performance, financial control, customer service, and compliance, while leading and developing a large multi-functional team.

You’ll be the key link between site operations and the wider business, ensuring excellence in service delivery, strong customer partnerships, and sustainable growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the site management team, driving engagement, capability, and succession planning.
  • Take full accountability for budget accuracy, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Own customer relationships on-site, ensuring commercial performance and service excellence.
  • Deliver against SLAs, KPIs, and customer expectations in a high-volume environment.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with policies, regulations, and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across Torque to align site operations with business-wide goals.

About You

  • Extensive experience managing large, complex warehousing operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience of both closed-book and open-book accounts.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire large teams in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Excellent communicator, relationship builder, and problem solver.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office & warehousing systems).
  • Knowledge of employment law and health & safety regulations.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a hands-on approach when needed.
