Key Responsibilities
- Source, buy, and sell a variety of nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc.) and dried fruits (raisins, apricots, figs, etc.) globally.
- Develop and maintain relationships with producers, processors, and customers to expand our trading network.
- Identify market trends, pricing movements, and supply/demand dynamics to make informed trading decisions.
- Negotiate trade contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers and customers.
- Monitor and manage logistics, quality control, and inventory to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
- Collaborate with the finance team to manage risk and optimize cash flow.
- Prepare and present market analysis and trading reports to senior management.
- Engage in supply chain management to ensure quality assurance from origin to end customer.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events to represent the company and network within the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- 3–7 years of experience in trading nuts, dried fruits, or related commodities.
- Strong understanding of global market dynamics, pricing structures, and industry trends.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record in contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills—ability to analyze data trends and market statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and trading software; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and German is a must; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) are a plus.
- Willingness to travel for supplier meetings, market visits, and industry events.
