We are a Vienna-based agri‑commodity company operating across two complementary business divisions: a grains and oilseeds trading desk and an edible nuts packing and processing business. We are seeking a commercially minded FP&A Analyst to provide financial oversight, performance monitoring, and strategic insight across both business units. This role offers high visibility and direct interaction with senior leadership, supporting key decision‑making in a fast‑moving international commodity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Own consolidated financial reporting across both the trading and packing divisions, ensuring leadership has a clear and accurate view of business performance.
- Prepare monthly P&L reports, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods, broken down by business unit, commodity, and customer where relevant.
- Develop and maintain management dashboards and reporting tools to provide real‑time visibility of financial and operational performance.
- Trading Desk Analysis (Grains & Oilseeds)
- Track key trading metrics including margin per tonne, position profitability, contract performance, freight and logistics costs.
- Support mark‑to‑market reporting, monitor hedging activity, and ensure trading P&L is accurately reflected.
- Assist traders and management with financial analysis related to pricing and risk exposure.
- Operational Finance (Edible Nuts Packing Business)
- Monitor operational KPIs including packing volumes, yield rates, wastage, cost per unit, and customer margin performance.
- Partner with the operations team to understand cost drivers and efficiency opportunities.
- Support profitability analysis by product line and customer segment.
- Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts across both divisions.
- Build and maintain robust financial models reflecting the operational and commercial dynamics of the business.
- Conduct scenario analysis to support pricing strategies, new market opportunities, and capacity investment decisions.
- Financial Governance
- Liaise with the accounting team during month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with Austrian accounting standards (UGB) and applicable IFRS reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 5‑7 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or business partnering roles.
- Experience in commodity trading, food processing, or agricultural supply chains strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of commodity trading P&L mechanics, including physical trading, pricing, hedging, and logistics costs.
- Experience in manufacturing, packing, or processing environments is a strong advantage.
- Fluent English required; German highly desirable for local stakeholder interaction.
- Familiarity with Austrian accounting standards (UGB) or EU reporting frameworks is a plus.
