Project Manager

Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing LV/HV civils projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a background working for UKPN or ICP companies, with experience managing projects within the utility sector. Working closely with the Contracts Manager, you will manage project timelines, workforce allocation, and site safety while maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. This role requires frequent travel, making a full UK driving license essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Execution & Compliance – Manage LV/HV civils projects, ensuring alignment with contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Workforce & Resource Coordination – Plan and allocate work for teams, ensuring operatives have required training and certifications, and managing plant/materials procurement.
  3. SHEQ & Risk Management – Enforce safety protocols, conduct site inspections, generate risk assessments, and investigate incidents under RIDDOR.
  4. Stakeholder & Client Management – Maintain project records, ensure subcontractor compliance, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  1. LV/HV Civils Experience – Minimum 5 years in the utility sector, specifically on UKPN or ICP projects, with supervisory experience.
  2. Certifications & Training – SMSTS, CSCS/EUSR card, First Aid training, and a full UK driving license (NRSWA desirable).
  3. Technical & Commercial Acumen – Microsoft Project proficiency, understanding of safe excavation, risk assessments, and SHEQ policies.
  4. Health & Safety Expertise – Strong knowledge of SHEQ, manual handling, HAV, and environmental awareness in LV/HV environments.
