Part of the Tormead family, RydesHill Pre‑Prep and Nursery is a nurturing, home‑from‑home school where children are carefully guided through each stage of their early development, supported to flourish both academically and personally. At the heart of learning at RydesHill are the Five Cs: Courage, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Curiosity, which are embedded in every lesson and equip children with life skills beyond the classroom. From September 2026 we will extend our provision by welcoming babies from 6 months. The nursery operates for 48 weeks per year, from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, in a bright, spacious, and inspirational learning environment with dedicated outside areas.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and highly motivated Baby Room Leader to join our friendly team and lead the delivery of exceptional care, learning and development opportunities for our youngest children. This is an all‑year round, full‑time position based in an independent school community that values every child’s unique potential.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the day‑to‑day management of the baby room, ensuring a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where babies can thrive.
- Plan and implement high‑quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Maintain excellent standards of care and safeguarding, and promote children’s well‑being and development.
- Build strong partnerships with families, parents and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
- Support each child’s individual needs and foster secure, positive relationships.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in child‑care and previous experience working with babies in an Early Years setting.
- Experience in a leadership role is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, a warm and caring approach and a genuine desire to make a positive difference to children’s lives.
- Willingness to undertake child‑protection screening, an enhanced DBS check and to complete online background checks.
