Job Title: KS1 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: NJC Scale 2.4 - £17,466.23 pro rata actual salary

Hours: 30 hours per week

Working Pattern: Term time only

Contract type: 12 Months Fixed Term (Initially)

Closing date: Monday 13th July 2026

Interview Date: Wednesday 15th July 2026

Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026

Responsibilities

  • Able to work on their own initiative.
  • Passionate about ensuring SEND pupils make progress both academically and pastorally.
  • A range of strategies and understanding of how to engage pupils in the learning taking place within the classroom.
  • Be personable, friendly and have a good sense of humour.
  • Committed to their own professional development.
  • Have the ability to work successfully in a team.
  • Highly motivated individual who will ensure the best possible outcomes for the young person/people they work with.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Suitably well qualified.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of how children learn.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND, particularly speech, language and communication difficulties, and an understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).
  • Subject to satisfactory clearance by the Criminal Records Bureau and a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
