Location: Greenbridge, Swindon

Hours of work: 7.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm (39 hours)

Torin designs and manufactures highly efficient AC and EC motors, motorised impellers, and fans for the residential and commercial HVAC manufacturing markets worldwide.

Role profile: We are looking for a proactive Material Planner / Buyer to join our Supply Chain team, supporting strategies that improve performance, reduce costs, and optimize working capital.

You’ll manage supplier schedules, source materials, raise RFQs, and work with procurement to secure supply solutions, contracts, and pricing. Your role also includes ECNs, NPIs, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely supply.
  • Source new suppliers, review pricing, and run RFQs to keep our supply base competitive.
  • Monitor supplier delivery schedules, managing risks and ensuring manufacturing continuity.
  • Drive cost reduction, quality improvements, and schedule adherence.
  • Manage ERP-based purchasing, MRP exception handling, and inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Support engineering changes, new product introductions, and part run in/run out activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as an operational buyer or material planner in manufacturing.
  • Supply chain qualification (IoSCM, CIPS, or equivalent), desirable.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor a plus).
  • Excel - intermediate level (pivot tables, formulae etc).
  • Strong analytical skills to plan and purchase efficiently.
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to review supply agreements and run RFQs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Focused, proactive, and driven by continuous improvement.
