Our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is a busy Level 1 unit providing 10 cots, including 2 HDU cots, 4 Special Care cots, and a 4-bedded Transitional Care Service.
We care for babies from 32 weeks gestation, including stabilisation for preterm or critically ill neonates prior to retrieval by the Peninsula Neonatal Transport Team.
Responsibilities include:
- Working effectively within the ward team as an enthusiastic, motivated nurse.
- Possessing an RN, RSCN, RN Child, or RM qualification.
- Willingness to work towards Neonatal Modules if not already completed.
- Experience in neonatal care is desirable, including recent student placements.
We welcome applications from nurses with transferable skills from adult care. The unit operates an 11.5-hour shift system covering days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
