Position
Torbay Pharma are currently looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join our team based in Paignton on up to a 12 month fixed term contract basis to cover maternity leave. Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance plays a crucial role in the financial leadership of the organisation. You will be responsible for leading a small team, ensuring collaboration across the business and managing day to day operations of the team. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience in a senior finance role to join a growing business. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week and is offered on a hybrid basis with the option for up to 2 days working from home.
Requirements
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth
- Month end, year end preparation including review and analysis
- Present financial reports to senior management
- Cashflow and working capital management
- Maintain and update financial controls inline with statutory requirements
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements, overseeing tax planning, R&D and reporting activities
- Liaise with any external advisors (Audit, Tax, Insurance etc)
- Lead and mentor the finance team
- Active role in the site management team to deliver the annual performance
- Continually seeking to improve on existing processes and controls, and encouragement for the team to behave in the same way
What are we looking for:
- Recognised accountancy qualification, ideally ACCA or ACA
- Previous experience in a senior financial leadership position, ideally within a manufacturing organisation
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office software
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices
