Torbay Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Report Writer to join our Business Intelligence team within Children's Services. This role is central to transforming data into actionable insights, supporting service improvement, and ensuring high-quality management information for decision-makers.

This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.
Ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries for data extraction.
Skilled at designing and building Power BI dashboards and reports.
Proficient in managing multiple priorities and delivering to tight deadlines, including urgent requests from senior management.
Able to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
In-depth knowledge of data warehouse structures, including navigation and interpretation of tables, fields, and views for effective reporting.
Understanding of Microsoft SQL Reporting and Analysis Services.
Knowledge of Power BI platform and reporting best practices.
