The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
Assist the Networks, Telephony & Switchboard Manager with technical matters relating to the voice and data communications infrastructure of the Trust, in particular those technical deliverables/enhancements required to support the Epic EPR programme.
Act as technical reference point for the voice & data network infrastructure and takes responsibility for upgrades, new installations and implementations to meet the requirements of the HIS and the EPR programme.
- Responsible for the voice and data networks for the South Devon Health Community, where the HIS has responsibility for providing these services.
- Providing solutions to complex networking technical problems.
- Motivating and providing technical leadership to junior members of the team in a fast-moving/changing environment.
- Communicating highly complex information.
- In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP network protocol and network addressing issues, including those specific to the NHS.
- In-depth knowledge of firewall technology and understanding of managing a secure IT environment.
- Responsible for ensuring the voice and data communications networks perform to agreed service levels.
- Diagnosing networking faults, providing solutions, and escalating to suppliers where appropriate.
- Ensuring that all networking operating systems and relevant software/firmware are at the correct revision level.
- Ensuring that any new installations of hardware and software are performed/supervised and completed to meet at least the requirements of the SLA.
- Ensuring maximum availability of networks to users, involving out-of-hours work where necessary.
- Participating in any out-of-hours rota during weekdays and weekends as required.
- Managing the access control and operation of the secure gateway to the NHS network and the Internet, as defined by IT Security Policy.
