Overview

The Care and Support Worker will work within a day service setting supporting people who have a wide range of learning, physical and health needs and also includes people who need support when they become distressed. You will participate in and access activities in the centre and the community and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team working with people who attend Hollacombe, their parents, carers and other professionals. You will provide support in accordance with individuals care plans and carry out tasks allocated by the senior team. You will act as an escort on a minibus with up to 8 other passengers with a tail lift and have responsibility alongside the driver for the safe transportation of people to and from the day service. The service operates within the policies and procedures of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and relevant national legislation and guidance e.g. Valuing People Now, Mental Capacity Act, and Safeguarding Adults etc.

The service runs from a location on top of the cliff at Preston, Paignton and gives people who use the service easy access to the local beaches, town and other amenities.
