We are looking for a dedicated Support Engineer to join a growing Global IT services provider to support a prestigious, long-term managed services contract. This isn’t just a standard helpdesk role; it’s a unique blend of technical support and Security Operations Center (SOC) experience. You will be the primary point of contact for a large UK-based Managed Service Provider, handling everything from infrastructure alerts to threat detection.
Why You’ll Love This Role

- Career Growth: This is a superb stepping stone for those interested in Cyber Security or Professional Services.
- Comprehensive Training: We value aptitude and passion—if you have the drive to learn, we provide the support and training to help you expand your skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support via phone, email, and remote sessions.
- Responding to infrastructure and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) alerts within a SOC environment.
- Performing hardware break/fix activities and liaising between customers and vendors.
- Ensuring all documentation and Knowledge Base (KB) articles are accurately maintained.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Ideally 2+ years in technical support, though we will consider high-potential candidates with a passion for tech.
- Technical Savvy: Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, connectivity, and security products.
- Communication: Exceptional "customer-facing" personality with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility: Must be comfortable with a 12-hour rotating shift pattern (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM / 8:30 PM – 8:30 AM).
- Logistics: Based in Reading or Alresford; owning a car is highly recommended.
The Package
- Salary: Up to £32,000 (Shift allowance already included).
- Start Date: Urgent requirement for a March 1st start.
- Location: Primarily office-based for day shifts with remote options for out-of-hours.
Important: We are moving quickly! The interview process is a streamlined two-stage approach focusing on cultural fit and technical delivery.
