Overview: HireGlobal by Toptal makes it simple and cost-effective for US companies to hire, pay, and manage global talent. HireGlobal is a new business within Toptal, and this is an opportunity to build something new with access to resources and know-how from our core platform. The Senior Product Manager will be a key driver of progress and growth, working closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Design to deliver scalable solutions for clients and workers worldwide. We take a data-driven and customer-first approach to ensure the roadmap delivers measurable business impact and a best-in-class user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Own and lead all aspects of an established agile team, including backlog grooming, triage, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination.
- Define the scope of new product features and ongoing improvements across web and desktop applications.
- Write and prioritize user stories and define acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain credibility with internal and external partners, including Finance, Legal, Support, and Sales teams.
- Break down complex problems and use data and analytics, combined with user research, to inform product direction.
- Track progress, assess risks, coordinate delivery, and communicate contingency and mitigation plans for the team.
- Run ad-hoc research and business analyses to assess opportunities and risks.
- Identify and solve complex product challenges aligned with short-term goals and long-term initiatives.
- Apply system-analyst techniques and consult with users to determine functional specifications for hardware, software, or systems.
First week: Onboard and integrate into Toptal while studying and learning the Toptal product suite. Become acquainted with your product area, goals, and partners.
First month: Work cross-functionally with Designers, Engineers, and senior stakeholders to organize and prioritize the high-level roadmap and backlog. Collaborate with your development team and take over in-flight and planned initiatives.
First three months: Fully support HireGlobal’s product, complete quarterly planning, and launch features with high business impact. Be fully embedded into and own a development team. Monitor and measure the success of initiatives against company goals. Improve the team’s processes through meaningful contributions.
First six months: Drive end-to-end delivery of the product with feature parity and high-quality user experience, aligning with strategy. Independently discover new product opportunities for the backlog. Develop a repeatable model for delivering roadmap initiatives. Continuously re-evaluate the roadmap’s alignment with strategic goals and adjust as needed.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical discipline.
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in fintech, payments, or billing systems.
- Proven track record launching and scaling payment-related products (billing, payroll, invoicing, FX, reconciliation).
- Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally with exposure to HR tech, payments, or compliance-heavy products.
- Track record of leading products end-to-end from discovery to launch and iteration.
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable using SQL or spreadsheets for data-driven decisions.
- Experience with third-party system integrations.
- Strong data-driven decision-making using various tools and methodologies to gather and synthesize information.
- Ability to craft solutions through data and a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to build wireframes and mockups in collaboration with Design, with an emphasis on simplicity and clarity.
- Meticulous with a high bar for quality in writing user stories, reviewing designs, and testing features before release.
- Humility, willingness to learn, and readiness to help achieve goals.
