We are currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team! You will drive various financial planning activities for our CTD and Pro Tiler brands, including store/company budgeting cycle, forecasting, and strategic 5-year planning. Your role will be instrumental in supporting the integration of the CTD business into the wider organisation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis to business managers, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of insight.
  • Administer key aspects of the monthly management accounting and financial accounting processes, ensuring information is available in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain open communication within the wider finance team around the period end accounts preparation.
  • Communicate with other departments who either feed information to the accounts or utilise information generated.
  • Close off the ledgers within agreed timescales and ensure that all key balance sheet control accounts have been reconciled and approved on a monthly basis.
  • Work with the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver a five-year financial plan, one year budget, and annual reforecast for CTD and Pro Tiler Tools.
  • Challenge decision makers to optimise financial performance for the business, including identifying commercial opportunities and supporting the MDs to control costs.
  • Support with various other financial activities as required, e.g. financial analysis, reviewing performance against plan.
  • Support CTD stores with queries in relation to their P&Ls.
Financial / Commercials
  • Support in the preparation of month end management accounts and present to key stakeholders on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that financial performance is well understood across the business, generating commercial insight.
  • Keep the Senior Finance Business Partner and Director of Commercial Finance appraised of financial performance and emerging long-term trends.
  • Prepare information for presentations across the business, including weekly reporting and Board reporting.
  • Support financial control and ensure that key balance sheet control accounts have been reconciled on a monthly basis.
Risk and process
  • Ensure appropriate processes exist both within finance and across the organisation to identify key areas of risk.
  • Agree with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Director of Commercial Finance appropriate plans to manage those risks.
  • Ensure that appropriate controls exist across the businesses, including compliance with key regulatory areas.
  • Drive improvements to increase the reliability and robustness of information and controls.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:Essential
  • Newly qualified or Part qualified accountant.
  • Good working knowledge of core finance processes.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Good level of commerciality.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and support non-finance teams.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage deadlines.
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics or Xero.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Good working knowledge of other business areas.
