This role is responsible for supporting the delivering of the buying and ranging strategy with a strong focus on expansion and growth. You will manage, maintain and further develop our product portfolio, in line with business plans and initiatives. Commercially astute, through product knowledge, creativity and strong supplier relationships you will ensure the continued evolution of our market leading range.

Customer / Strategy / Plan

  • Managing a core range of products including all aspects of the product life cycle
  • Be the sourcing specialist supporting specific projects and tenders
  • Supporting with long term key business growth opportunities & strategic development
  • Liaising with other departments within the organisation to ensure new product launches and projects are completed within required timescales and with maximum impact
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the relevant market including key competitors and trends
  • Internal pricing reviews and maintenance of range hierarchy
  • Competitor price and product analysis

People / Leadership

  • Maintaining existing supplier relationships and establishing new ones
  • Work cross functionally across the business to align buying with business needs

Financial / Commercials

  • Ensure purchases comply with company policies and budget guidelines.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and negotiate minor pricing adjustments.
  • Commercial awareness of competitor activity
  • Prepare regular reports and present insights to senior management

Essential

  • Experience working within a buying or sourcing environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Commercially and financially astute
  • Able to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Confident use of Microsoft Excel
