Role Responsibility We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Estimator who will work alongside and support our dynamic Sales team. You will benefit from working within a supportive learning environment ensuring your personal development and opportunity to progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will fulfil a range of duties including:
- Analysing drawings and determining specifications of tender requests.
- Arranging site visits where required and having full consideration for the quotation elements such as labour and materials, risks or providing commercial opportunities.
- Carrying out take-off measurements via drawings and directly onsite.
- Supporting and learning how to job cost and calculate the price of time, labour and materials and ensuring the prompt submission of estimates to clients.
- Ensuring company’s position on onerous terms and conditions is maintained.
- Identifying, and bringing to the attention of Estimating Manager, onerous terms and seeking directions for dealing with them.
- Maintaining an up-to-date resource database to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Developing relationships with customers, suppliers, and clients.
- Preparing Tender packages and liaising and negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of subcontractors and ensuring that estimates are based upon approved and competent suppliers.
- Ensuring clear and concise records are maintained.
- General administrative support to the estimating department where necessary.
- Keeps up to date with new aspects of job role and is actively interested in improving the department/business.
- Knowledgeable in the market in which the company operates, including an awareness of competitors and clients alike.
- Good time management with the ability to be flexible in your approach to work.
