The Role We are looking for a Data Architect to design and implement an operational data capability. This person should have a deep understanding of the data SDLC. Data will be sourced from the different operational systems but will have myriad use cases, including: For billing and other customer-related services and insights For use by the CRO team to provide additional sources of revenue (reporting, business insights, deriving data via aggregation and consortium or community) For operational use to enhance the portfolio capabilities in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence models to support and enhance fraud scoring, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Ops and Support for the Data Science Team use cases How you\’ll contribute Design and evolve an end-to-end data lifecycle management capability Ensure that data can be securely transported from the different operational databases into a secure central data repository (Data Lakehouse) Ensure the current Data Virtualization Capability works seamlessly with the data transport Deliver on a comprehensive ETL design including tooling, storage and delivery of fit-for-purpose data to operational environments Collaborate with CIO, CISO and CPO teams to ensure that we can deliver on roadmap and security capabilities as pertains to data Since Bottomline works in a highly regulated industry, having a full set of data governance, compliance and security tools must be part of the design Work closely with the different CTO teams (Data Science and Engineering) to ensure we can extract value from data The data environment must have capability to build and maintain services as medallion architectures, data sharing, automated pipelines for model build (especially for Data Science team) Review designs with an understanding of the impact and application of regulatory and internal policies (e.g. FFIEC, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS, HIPPA, and SLAs Closely collaborate with Development, Data Center Engineering, Product Management, and Delivery to guarantee environment integrity and compliance with Bottomline standards Articulate the strategic needs to Bottomline\’s technical and business leadership What will make you successful An extensive technical background in and understanding of the data SDLC including how to build technical flows, the ETL environment, security, compliance and governance, systems and application architecture with strong technical leadership in agile software development Strong technical leadership qualities. Ability to engage horizontally and vertically within the organization around the data SDLC Able and willing to talk to customers, as needed A strong background in designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems Proven experience with distributed systems, privacy rules, business continuity, High Availability and Disaster Recovery A special emphasis on Security and Privacy Strong knowledge of data enablement – ingestion, storage, wrangling with the requisite security constructs (e.g., encryption, keys, certs, tokens) Collaborative team player with experience working in a global organization BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant fields Why Join Us?
