THE ROLE

Reporting to the Language Operations Team Coordinator, the Language Operations Specialist is responsible for owning and driving task delivery within the translation workflow, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete, and fully aligned with company processes and client needs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership of outcomes, advanced attention to quality, and the ability to manage complex tasks and competing priorities within a dynamic environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and drive the execution of linguistic and operational tasks, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time, fully aligned with business unit priorities.
  • Take full ownership of outcomes, quality, and prioritization of assigned work, ensuring deliverables are consistent, complete, and do not require rework or additional validation.
  • Apply and uphold linguistic, quality, and operational processes, ensuring full compliance with account requirements and contributing to consistency and standardization across work.
  • Manage complex tasks, multitasking, and competing priorities effectively, maintaining stability, consistency, and delivery performance under varying workload demands.
  • Perform thorough and structured self-review before submission, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and technical correctness (e.g. links, logic, formatting).
  • Communicate proactively and effectively on task progress, risks, and blockers, ensuring timely visibility and alignment with Team Coordinators and relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify issues early and actively drive their resolution, proposing solutions and taking ownership to ensure delivery continuity and quality outcomes.
  • Drive contribution to team delivery outcomes, aligning with shared priorities and proactively supporting urgent or high-priority work to ensure continuity, reliability, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, Team Coordinators, and Service Delivery, contributing to alignment, knowledge sharing, and overall team performance.
  • Adapt proactively to changing priorities, project requirements, and business needs, maintaining high performance in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Continuously build and apply expertise across tools, processes, and services, contributing to improving efficiency, quality, and ways of working within the team.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and 1-to-1 sessions, providing structured updates, sharing insights, and contributing to alignment, problem-solving, and continuous improvement discussions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
  • Native speaker of German and fluent in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • 2–4 years of experience in language operations, localization, or translation service environments.
  • Solid experience working with translation and localization workflows, MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), CAT tools (e.g. Trados, MemoQ, or similar) and HTML coding and scripting.
  • Strong understanding of linguistic quality standards, QA processes, and account-specific requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and workload independently, deliver consistent, high-quality outputs with minimal rework, and work effectively in fast-paced and changing environments.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving quality issues and delivery risks, and following and applying structured operational processes and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes, and contribute to team delivery and shared priorities.
