Reporting to the Head of IP Operations, the Intellectual Property Paralegal will join our newly formed IP division focused on the international patent filing and renewal process.

ROLE OVERVIEW The Intellectual Property Paralegal will manage all aspects of the international patent filing and renewal process.

Initially, the Paralegal will also be a key participant in the development, testing and documentation of the company’s filing processes.

This role requires a detail‑oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of European Patent validation, PCT National Phase Entry and direct Paris Convention filing processes.

You will work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure efficient case progression and exceptional service delivery.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage international patent filings via the PCT, EP and Paris Convention routes.

Liaise with international patent agent firms to ensure filings are carried out successfully in line with national patent office requirements.

Work with translation project management colleagues to ensure that translations are delivered in time for the associated filings.

Support the ongoing design and testing of the STREAM IP software platform and associated patent filing and renewal workflow management system.

Assist with defining, testing and documenting associated international patent filing processes.

Manage IP portfolios, including patent renewals and recordals.

Work with sales teams to ensure thorough understanding of client requirements and successful onboarding.

Liaise with clients, outside counsel, and IP offices to ensure knowledgeable and timely responses and updates.

Maintain accurate case files and databases, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations.

Stay updated on IP law developments and assist in preparing client alerts or newsletters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 1 year specializing in intellectual property law.

Strong understanding of EPC and PCT patent filing processes and associated national IPO requirements.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Experience documenting processes and standard operating procedures.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.

CIPA Paralegal qualification (or working towards).

Knowledge of IPMS software.

Knowledge of emerging IP issues, such as digital IP or AI‑related rights.

Knowledge of French or German would be an advantage.

SKILLS Proactive and self‑motivated with a keen interest in intellectual property law.

Desire to work in a fast‑paced international environment and shape new operating processes.

Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships.

Confident in handling sensitive and confidential information.
