Exciting Opportunity for a Scrub Nurse
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced theatre department? We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Scrub Nurse to work at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford for short- and long-term placements, as well as ad-hoc shifts in a variety of NHS Hospitals and Private Organisations.
As a Scrub Nurse, you will work alongside Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Theatre Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), Theatre Support Workers, and Porters to provide skilled care and support throughout a patient\βs perioperative care.
You will be joining a friendly team of medical and nursing staff who are passionate about their work and dedicated to providing excellent care for patients and visitors.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
As a Scrub Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and maintaining a safe and sterile environment for the patient throughout the surgical procedure.
- Safely identifying, preparing, checking, and assembling equipment required for the relevant operating list.
- Preparing and organising the clinical area for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
- Coordinating and maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs, stores, and implants, liaising with the Theatre Manager and Procurement.
- Actively supporting patients and their families, ensuring effective communication of clinical information.
- Demonstrating and developing clinical assessment skills, prioritising care for patients undergoing surgical/anaesthetic procedures.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of patient care within the operating theatres by sharing knowledge and expertise.
