Chelsea & Westminster Hospital is seeking an experienced and energetic Dietitian to work within the Dietetic Acute Team. This position is ideal for an existing Band 6 Dietitian with inpatient and Gastro outpatient experience. The successful candidate will support the dietetic department for inpatients in various clinical areas and cover some Gastro outpatient clinics. The post holder will also have clinical dietetic experience in managing enterally fed patients and a good grounding in oral nutritional support.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Provide dietetic care for general inpatient wards and some Gastro and general outpatient clinics.
  • Manage complex enterally fed patients.
  • Ensure the safe and timely discharge of tube-fed patients.
  • Attend MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) meetings.
  • Provide teaching and support to students on placement.
  • Deliver ongoing education to wards.
  • Keep up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: BSc or Diploma in Dietetics.
  • Registration: HCPC registration.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience at Band 5 level in acute areas.
  • Experience working as part of an MDT in clinical practice.
  • Experience as a qualified dietitian in Gastro outpatients (desirably FODMAP trained).
  • Experience in the management of patients with different forms of enteral nutrition.
  • Experience in enteral feed discharges.
  • Experience in a general outpatient setting.

Desirable Criteria: NHS acute experience.
