Role Overview
Topdeck creates group travel experiences for 18–32‑year‑olds who want to see the world, meet new people and make the most of every moment. We’re looking for a Social Content Creator who can capture that feeling and turn it into content that people want to watch, share and be part of. This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands social, loves travel and knows what makes people stop scrolling. You’ll be creating, filming, editing, posting content across TikTok, Instagram and other key social channels. Some days you’ll be planning ideas and editing from the office. Other days you may be out on the road capturing Topdeck moments with our travellers and Trip Leaders. You’ll need to be confident creating content yourself, including being comfortable appearing on camera when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll be responsible for creating and managing social‑first content across Topdeck’s key channels, especially TikTok and Instagram.
- Filming, editing and producing short‑form video content for Reels, TikTok, Stories and other social formats.
- Creating content both in the office and on the road, capturing the people, places, food, laughs, friendships and moments that make Topdeck trips memorable.
- Appearing on camera where needed, from quick explainers to trend‑led content and trip storytelling.
- Scheduling and posting content, writing captions and keeping channels active and consistent.
- Engaging with comments and messages to help build a stronger sense of community.
- Working with Trip Leaders, travellers and the marketing team to build an organised content library.
- Supporting campaigns with social‑first ideas, quick‑turnaround edits and paid social assets.
- Monitoring platform trends, content performance and audience behaviour to help improve what we create.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll probably be someone who already spends a lot of time on TikTok and Instagram, not just consuming content, but noticing what works, what feels tired and what brands are doing well. You’ll need to be comfortable moving quickly, taking on board feedback and creating content that feels native to the platform rather than overproduced.
Experience and Skills You'll need:
- 2+ years’ experience creating social‑first content, ideally for a Gen Z audience.
- Strong short‑form video filming and editing skills, with experience creating for TikTok, Instagram and other social platforms.
- Confidence appearing on camera when required.
- A strong eye for trends, formats, hooks, storytelling and what makes people engage.
- Ability to create content in‑app, as well as using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise.
- A genuine interest in travel.
It would also be advantageous if you have:
- An understanding of Australian culture, humour and trends.
- Experience working with travel, lifestyle, youth or experience‑led brands.
- Experience capturing content while travelling or at live events.
