Accountant in Tamworth

Job Overview

Topcon Positioning Group seeks an Accountant in Tamworth – U.K. The role is office‑based with the possibility of smart working from home.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices
• Process and prepare monthly management accounts
• Assist internal and external auditors with queries
• Assist in maintaining an organised finance department ensuring records are stored and maintained appropriately
• Conduct regular GL accounts reviews on payables and receivables
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
• Assist in year‑end processes
• Provide cover to the Finance Manager as required
• Reconcile spending with budget and analyse costs
• Assist with regional tasks when required
• Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
• Maintain a good working relationship with other departments and the regional finance team
• Work within the confines of the GDPR, respecting data subject rights and processing personal data in accordance with the Company’s Data Protection Policy
• Assist in other areas of the company’s operations (within capabilities) and other duties as required

Qualifications

• Account management experience with an understanding of accounting principles and practices
• AAT qualified or part qualified (ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience
• IT literate with good working knowledge of Excel and experience using finance systems
• Strong analytical and demonstrable numerical skills
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines

Benefits

• Salary range between £40,000 – £45,000 gross per year
