Top Tier Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of a well-established transport and logistics provider based in the Southampton area. Our client has built a strong reputation within the container and general haulage sector, providing reliable transport solutions to a wide range of customers across the UK. Due to continued growth and increased customer demand, they are now looking to expand their driving team with professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy operation offering consistent work, modern vehicles, and a supportive transport team.
The Role
- Container work from Southampton Port
- Collect containers and deliver to customer locations throughout the UK
- Return to depot to collect and load the following day's container
- Typical shifts between 10 and 14 hours per day
- Monday to Friday work 06:00 start times
- Daily interaction with transport planners and customers
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and professionally
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience
- Maximum of 3 penalty points
- Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A professional and safety‑conscious approach to work
Desirable
- Previous container experience preferred but not essential
- Port card advantageous but not required
