An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Co-ordinator to join a leading national transport and logistics operation within the tanker haulage sector. This is a fast-paced role where you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of LGV vehicles and trailers across the UK while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining operational compliance.
Shift Pattern:
- Rotating weekly shifts: 06:00 – 14:00
- 14:00 – 22:00
- 22:00 – 06:00 (cover only with additional allowance)
37.5 hours per week with overtime opportunities and weekend on-call cover on a rota basis.
The Role:
- Planning and coordinating driver and vehicle movements
- Managing daily transport plans and rotas
- Monitoring delivery performance and KPI targets
- Liaising with drivers, customers and operational teams
- Ensuring compliance with WTD and drivers’ hours regulations
- Maintaining high levels of customer service
- Managing operational issues and responding to changing demands
- Supporting driver wages, expenses and holiday planning
- Ensuring all H&S procedures are followed and incidents reported correctly
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within transport/logistics planning or coordination
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Experience working within a fast-paced operational environment
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport compliance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to problem solve and work under pressure
- IT competent with experience using transport planning systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Microlise or similar systems advantageous
