Pay Rates

  • Standard Rate + Shift Allowance: £15.31 per hour
  • Monday to Friday Overtime: £21.55 per hour
  • Saturday & Sunday Overtime: £28.74 per hour
  • Bank Holidays: £28.74 per hour

Shift Pattern

  • 4 On / 2 Off
  • 8-Hour Shifts
  • Mixture of Early and Late Shifts

The Role

We are recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy airside operation at Heathrow Airport. Drivers will be responsible for transporting freight between warehouse facilities and aircraft stands using Class 2 vehicles. Freight may be loaded or unloaded depending on operational requirements. While the majority of freight is palletised, occasional manual handling will be required, including moving mail bags and assisting with loading and unloading duties.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have experience driving one of the following:
    • HGV Class 2 (Category C)
    • HGV Class 1
    • Vehicles over 18 tonnes
    • Bus or Coach Drivers (double-decker experience preferred) with a minimum of 1 year's experience
    • 7.5 Tonne Drivers with a minimum of 1 year's experience

Additional requirements:

  • Airside driving experience on vehicles over 18 tonnes is advantageous
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional attitude with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Commitment to Health & Safety procedures

Compliance Requirements

Due to the nature of the role and airport security requirements, applicants must be able to provide:

  • An up-to-date CV demonstrating a stable employment history (no more than four employers within the last five years)
  • An HMRC 5-year employment history letter confirming employment history
  • Full employment and reference history to satisfy airport security clearance requirements
